Math Tournament at Berkeley (BMT) is a nonprofit organization run by a team of Berkeley undergraduate students with a mission to create a βminiβ math tournament for elementary and middle school students in the spring (aka the BmMT), as well as a high school tournament in the fall (aka the BMT).
Mini Math Tournament at Berkeley (BmMT) is an informal, online contest, perfect for students who wish to be introduced to competition math in a low-stakes environment. The tournament will consist of 4 rounds: Puzzle, Individual, Pacer, and Team. BmMT is designed for students in middle school. Elementary school students (Grade 4 to 8) in particular, are encouraged to participate. Participants will be teamed up in groups of up to 5 participants.
Math Tournament at Berkeley (BMT) offers teams of high school students the opportunity to share their interest in mathematics with like-minded individuals and to get a taste of the concepts studied in higher mathematics. BMT will consist of 3 main rounds β Power, Guts, and General/Focus. BMT is designed for students in high school. Grade 9 to A-Levels/STPM students are encouraged to participate. Participants will be teamed up in groups of up to 6 participants.
BmMT and BMT are Global Finals competitions for different grade catogeries. All Malaysian students who have won Gold/ Silver Award in SASMO or AMO or SMGF will be invited to compete in BmMT / BMT. Contest entry is available on a first come first served basis, so register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Focus Round (60 mins)
The Focus Round has 4 tests, each on a different category: Algebra, Geometry, Discrete Math, and Calculus.
Guts Round (75 mins)
The Guts Round consist of 9 sets of 3 problems across various subjects in Math. The key feature of this round is that each set must be turned in before the next set is given. All teams can see a live scoreboard with their standings.
