Philippine International Math and Science Olympics (PIMSO) is an annual international Olympiad competition organized by ICE from the Philippines. PIMSO is divided into 2 stages: PIMSO National Round and International Finals.

We all dream of becoming a champion. We believe that every child has the potential to become a champion – a champion who could stand the test of time and contribute to the success of society. To this end, ICE created PIMSO, a community to bring together champions from all places, of all beliefs and races, of all color and culture for the betterment of our global society.

We believe that math and science are the foundations of our society’s success. Through PIMSO, we aim to unite students across nations and establish their aspirations in pursuit of excellence by recognizing each child’s potential through technologically driven, innovative, fair, and relevant opportunities.

MATH

PIMSO-Math National Round and PIMSO-Math Final are open to all Year 1 to 13 (Primary 1 to A-Levels/STPM) Malaysian students. Students who have won Gold/ Silver/ Bronze/ Achiever Award in PIMSO-Math National Round or Gold/ Silver/ Bronze in Depth Of Knowledge Assessment (DOKA) will be invited to compete in PIMSO-Math International Finals.

SCIENCE

PIMSO-Science National Round and PIMSO-Science Final are open to all Year 1 to 13 (Primary 1 to A-Levels/STPM) Malaysian students. Students who have won Gold/ Silver/ Bronze/ Achiever Award in PIMSO-Science National Round will be invited to compete in PIMSO-Science International Finals.

Awards (Math)

1) National Round – PIMSO Awards Committee shall recognize the participants in this manner:

A. Higher 60% of the total number of participants shall qualify to the International Round and shall be entitled to one of these awards based on their scores:
– 4 Mistakes or Less (130 points & higher) – Gold Medal
– 5 to 7 Mistakes (115 to 125 points) – Silver Medal
– 8 to 10 Mistakes (100 to 110 points) – Bronze Medal
– Remaining Participants – Achiever Medal

Global Ranking Special Award per level, if applicable:
– Champion – Trophy
– First Runner Up – Trophy
– Second Runner Up – Trophy

B. Lower 40% of the participants shall receive either of the following:
– Upper 50% – Merit Certificate
– Lower 50% – Participation Certificate

2) International Round – PIMSO Awards Committee shall recognize and award the participants based on the following criteria:
– 4 Mistakes of Less (130 points & higher) – Gold Medal
– 5 to 7 Mistakes (115 to 125 points) – Silver Medal
– 8 to 10 Mistakes (100 to 110 points) – Bronze Medal
– Remaining Participants (Below 100 points) – Merit Medal
