All students who have won Gold/ Silver/ Bronze/ Honorable Mention Award in AMO or SASMO or Gold/ Silver/ Bronze/ Honorable Mention in SMGF will be invited to compete in SIMOC. Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) is a unique concept of mathematics competition which not only tests your ability to solve mathematical problems on paper but also tests your ability to work as a team to play interactive mathematical games and solve puzzles. SIMOC gives you an opportunity to compete with top mathematical talents from around the world and learn from each other as a team. Individual and team recognition awards are up for grabs.

This international competition is open to Grade 1 to Grade 13 (Primary 1 to A-Levels/STPM)Β Malaysian students who have won Gold/ Silver/ Bronze/ Honorable MentionΒ Award in Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO) or American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) or Gold/ Silver/ Bronze/ Honorable Mention in Β Singapore Math Global Finals.

Format

It consists of three categories: 1 individual written Math Olympiad Contest and 2 team-based challenges – Maths Warrior Competition & Math Master Mind.

Part 1 – Math Olympiad Contest (Individual) 

Math Olympiad Contest is an individual written test. The contest consists of 11 differentiated levels: Grades 1 to 11-13 (Primary 1 to A-Levels/STPM). The duration of the contest is 90 minutes and every paper consists of 25 questions. Student starts with 15 bonus points and Perfect Score is 85 points.

Part 2 – Maths Warriors (Team based)

Math Warriors is a game that tests student’s ability to do mental sums as well as strategic thinking. There is also an element of chance involved which makes the game even more exciting.

Part 3 – Math Master Mind (Team based) 
*Not applicable for Lower Primary Division

Math Master Mind is a team-based round. It consists of 2 rounds. Students are assigned to teams of five by the organiser.

Awards

Math Olympiad (Individual Award)

Maths Warrior Challenge

Math Master Mind Challenge

All the winners – Perfect Scorers, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention will receive physical certificates and non winners will receive an e-certificate of Participation. Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners will receive medals while Perfect Scorers, Champions, Runner-Ups, and 2nd Runner-Ups will be awarded a limited edition medallion with their name.

Team winners of Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards will receive a medal and certificate

Overall Championship Award
For each student, we will total up the score for individual and team events and select the TOP 3 students per level and award:

*Each grade level must have at least 50 contestants before we will award overall championship

Perfect Score Award
Perfect Score winners will receive a certificate, personalized engraved medallion and gift voucher of $100*.
*If there are more than 50 perfect scorers, a total of $5000 SGD Gift Voucher will be split among all the perfect scorers.
