American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) is an affiliate of Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools, USA (MOEMS) and there are similar affiliates in Columbia, Iceland, Australia (APSMO), Philippines, China and India.
Created in 1977 by Dr. George Lenchner, an internationally known math educator, the Math Olympiads (MOEMS) went public in 1979. Last year, nearly 150,000 students from 6,000 teams worldwide participated in the Olympiads. All 50 states in US and about 30 other countries were represented.
Year 3: 15 non-routine problems (1 point each), total 15 points. To finish in 90 minutes
Year 4: 20 non-routine problems (1 point each), total 20 points.To finish in 90 minutes
Year 5-8: 25 non-routine problems (1 point each), total 25 points.To finish in 90 minutes
AMO questions are set in trilingual version – BAHASA MELAYU, ENGLISH & CHINESE.
Calculators are NOT permitted.
Top scorers will receive Gold (top 10%), Silver (next 10%) and Bronze (next 10%) Awards. Others will each get a Certificate of Participation.
HOW TO REGISTER?
All participating schools MUST have at least 10 students taking part.
IMPORTANT!!! AMO Registrations submitted without meeting minimum requirements will be automatically voided/ disqualified and no refund will be entertained.
Fill up the form with your student details then email the form back to email@example.com, together with your bank-in slip.

AMO will be held in your school and no travelling is required.
We will send the AMO question papers to your school by post, within the week before competition’s sitting date. After the competition, the person in charge (PIC) appointed by your school will send the question papers (with solutions and answers) back to SMO by post, on the competition day itself.
